Methanex Corp., the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol, has cut its February Asian contract price (ACP) by $20 to $255 per metric ton (MT), compared to the previous month.
The company slashed the price of its contracts in the North American market by $50 to $249/MT.
The monthly prices issued by the Canadian firm are considered as an indicative price for other players, as well as for the spot market.
Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), Saudi International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem), the Saudi-based Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) and Qatar Industries (QI) are also among the top methanol producers in Asia.
