Halwani Bros is planning to build a poultry processing plant in Egypt at an estimated cost of $12.8 million, Egypt’s Alborsa newspaper reported, citing the company’s technical director Gamal Mustafa.

The plant will be built over 18 months with a total capacity reaching 300 tons per month within its first year of operation. Within three years, the facility is expected to produce 1,000 tons per month.

The group produces 2,000 tons of luncheon meats per month and 2,500 tons of cooked beef per month, of which ten percent is allocated for exports.

The Jeddah-based company is a leading regional producer of processed meat, sweets, jam, juices and other products. Its manufacturing plants are located in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
