Construction on Saudi Arabia’s Waad Al Shamal industrial city is continuing as scheduled, Sultan Al Shawli, Deputy Minister for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, told Al-Madina newspaper.
King Abdullah project for Waad al Shamal City development extends on 440,000 square kilometers, including 150 square kilometers for Saudi Arabian Mining Co.’s (Maaden) projects.
Waad Al-Shamal joint venture is 60 percent-owned by Maaden, 25 percent by US-based Mosaic Co. and 15 percent by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).
Maaden, SABIC, and Mosaic are investing SAR 28 billion to build seven plants in the city and three facilities in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City with a production capacity estimated at 16,000 tons of phosphate products.
