Nadec completes first phase of Sudan fodder farm

National Agricultural Development Co. (Nadec) has completed the first phase of its project to reclaim land and grow animal fodder in North Kordofan, Sudan, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

Nadec has reclaimed 3,200 hectares of land under the project which plans to cover a total of 25,000 hectares, it said, adding that the results of the first phase would be reviewed before it moves on to the next stage.

The total area has been earmarked for investments worth SAR 81.8 million, according to data available on Argaam.

Saudi Arabia has recently urged agricultural and dairy companies in the kingdom to phase out local animal feed production in an effort to conserve water.
