Umm Al-Qura Cement Co. (UACC) on Sunday commenced commercial operations at its new Portland cement production line, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.
The cement producer added that it would be difficult to measure the financial impact at this stage due to supply and demand factors.
Last month, UACC announced putting the plant under trial run. The facility will operate with an annual production capacity of 1.98 million tons of clinker. The plant will also produce 2.22 million tons of cement.
