Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries fell for the sixth straight month to $96.5 billion by the end of July, a 12.4 percent drop compared to the same month last year, new data released by the US Treasury showed.
The kingdom’s US Treasury holdings for July dropped 1.8 percent month-on-month.
Saudi Arabia ranked as the 15th largest holder of US debt in July, for the second month in a row. China and Japan topped the list with $1.2 trillion and $1.15 trillion, respectively.
The kingdom’s holdings of Treasuries peaked at $123.6 billion in January.
