Astra Industrial Group received a letter on Wednesday from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Zakat and Tax regarding the payment of an additional 69.8 million in zakat and tax claims, the company said, adding that it would appeal the decision.
The industrial firm clarified that zakat was paid and the related statements were submitted.
Financial impact will be estimated immediately after the appeal statement is prepared by Astra’s adviser, the statement added.
The amount includes SAR 3.18 million in zakat differences for the period from 2004 to 2006, in addition to SAR 64.6 million zakat claims, SAR 1.75 million in income tax and SAR 237,400 tax deductions for the period from 2007 to 2013.
