Nadec to launch phase one of Sudan fodder farm tomorrow

15/01/2017 Argaam

National Agricultural Development Co. (Nadec) will launch tomorrow the first phase of its animal fodder farm in North Kordofan, the Sudanese minister of agriculture and forestry, Awad El-Karim, told Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

Phase one of the project comprises building a road between Omdurman and Jabra cities, and the installation of irrigation equipment, which will continue in the second phase. The company will set up dairy farms at the end of the second phase.

Earlier in 2016, Nadec said it has completed reclaiming land to grow animal fodder in North Kordofan.

Saudi Arabia has urged agricultural and dairy companies in the kingdom to phase out local animal feed production in an effort to conserve water.
