Saudi Arabia’s labor ministry’s Dammam office will file an urgent lawsuit against Mohammad Al Mojil Group (MMG) to demand SAR 88 million from the sale of the company’s assets as outstanding payments for all current employees and all those previously employed till Dec.31, 2017, the company said in a statement to Tadawul on Thursday.
The labor office has agreed to drop the penalties related to salary delays and has agreed to find suitable opportunities for Saudi employees in other companies.
This decision was taken after the chairman of MMG’s supervisory committee and other company representatives met with the labor office on Feb. 2.
In January, auctioneers assigned by a Dammam court placed an auction notice on the gate of MMG’s compound and warehouse.
In December, a court ordered MMG to auction 21 percent of its fixed assets. Another directive dated Nov. 22, 2016 banned the firm from removing assets from its buildings.
