Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) has paid SAR 219.5 million to Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily), as per an arbitration ruling on a dispute between both companies, Zain said in a statement Monday.
Zain Saudi also paid SAR 1.2 million to the expert appointed by the arbitration panel to resolve the case.
Mobily had sought arbitration on a dispute that dated back to 2008, when it claimed that Zain owed it SAR 2.2 billion for site-sharing and domestic roaming services.
Zain denied the claims and stated it only owed SAR 13 million, but the arbitration panel ruled in favor of Mobily in November.
