Bupa, MedGulf vie for education ministry contract: report

05/03/2017 Argaam

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education is currently studying two medical insurance bids submitted by Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance (Bupa Arabia) and Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (MedGulf) to provide voluntary health insurance services to the ministry’s employees and their families.

Employees interested in participating in the insurance coverage will be required to pay a two-month installment as an advance payment, Okaz newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources.

The insurance premium will then be deducted from the employee’s salary on a monthly basis, it was reported.

Last month, Al Rajhi Co. for Cooperative Insurance signed an agreement with the ministry to provide voluntary health insurance services to employees and their families.

The winning bid will be announced in a press conference to be held in the ministry’s headquarters.
