Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Monday signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in various fields as part of the two countries’ plans to strengthen mutual cooperation and ties, the state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
A memorandum of cooperation related to Japan’s fourth industrial revolution, which is aimed at encouraging public-private sector participation in various projects, to develop and apply key technologies that could drive Japanese business and industry forward.
The other preliminary agreements were aimed at offering various cooperation opportunities and promoting cultural activities under the Joint Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030.
Both sides also agreed to regulate visa issuance for Saudi and Japanese nationals.
Last September, the kingdom and Japan had inked seven MoUs to enhance cultural exchange, promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in addition to industrial investment cooperation.
