Security forces in Saudi Arabia foiled an attack targeting worshippers at the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Makkah on Friday, state television Al-Ekhbariya and Al Arabiya TV reported.
Security forces said the attack was planned by three terrorist groups, two based in Makkah, and the third based in Jeddah, Al Arabiya reported.
A suicide bomber, who was hiding inside a home in Al Ajyad neighborhood of Makkah, blew himself up after being cornered by security forces, it was reported.
Six people were reportedly injured. The police have arrested five suspects, including one female.
