Saudi non-oil exports edge up 2% in April

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports rose 2 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 14.5 billion in April 2017, data from the Kingdom’s General Authority for Statistics showed.

When compared to the previous month, however, non-oil exports fell by SAR 1.9 billion in April.

The rise in non-oil exports in April was attributed to a 7 percent YoY increase, or SAR 297 million, in exports of plastics and rubber products, as well as a YoY rise of 10 percent or SAR 117 million in the exports of base metals.

The United Arab Emirates was the top destination market for Saudi products, followed by China, Singapore, India, and Kuwait. The five countries accounted for 42.2 percent of the Kingdom’s total non-oil exports in April.
