Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, vice-chairman of the High Committee for the Development of Arriyadh, said the Riyadh Metro project is 57 percent complete and the overall work is going according to plan.
During a visit to the project on Sunday, he was briefed on all the developments including the security and safety arrangements of the project, according to a statement on the commission’s website.
According to data compiled by Argaam, in July 2013, the rail system contract was awarded at SAR 84.4 billion ($22.5 billion) to three international consortiums.
When complete, the metro will span 176 kilometers and include 85 stations.
