Saudi Electricity sets up SAR 4.3 bln projects in Makkah, Madinah

Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) has implemented SAR 4.3 billion worth of new projects in the holy sites (Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah) to improve power services, CEO Ziyad Alshiha said in a statement.

Three units were operated in Rabigh II power plant at a capacity of 2058 MW, Alshiha said, adding that power transmission projects have a capacity of 3706 mega volt ampere (MVA) at a total value of SAR 3.92 billion.

Also, a total of SAR 335 million were invested in building 91 new plants to enhance medium and low voltage transmission projects. In addition, an additional capacity of 193 MVA was added to the new projects in the holy sites, Alshiha noted.
