Regional e-commerce website Noon has gone live in Saudi Arabia, the company announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The platform offers products across a range of categories such as electronics, fashion, beauty, baby, home and kitchen and groceries.

“Noon brings a dynamic, locally-driven and customer-oriented digital marketplace to the Kingdom serving the community and offering a new retail and much-improved experience,” Noon founder Mohamed Alabbar said in the statement.

“With talented young Saudis driving its operations, along with being powered by Saudi and regional retailers showcasing their amazing products, the platform also offers Saudi entrepreneurs, including start-ups, to be part of a fast-growing digital ecosystem,” he added.

The company said it has a dedicated distribution hub, full-fledged logistics network, and a secure payment gateway to serve the whole of the Kingdom.

The Riyadh-headquartered Noon is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Alabbar. The company went live in the United Arab Emirates at the end of September.

Kuwait-based M.H. Alshaya Co. bought a stake in the website in September, and Saudi-listed retailer Extra launched a partnership with Noon last month, making it the platform’s exclusive supplier of electronics and home appliances in Saudi Arabia.
