Saudi energy minister Khalid Al-Falih and International Energy Agency (IEA) director Fatih Birol have stressed the need for more investments in the energy sector to meet the increasing demand, according to a statement by the IEA.
Investments were needed to offset declines from mature fields, the statement added.
Both officials also discussed boosting cooperation to improve energy efficiency and increasing the contribution of renewable sources and nuclear power to global energy industry.
