Saudi Aramco names new board members, appoints first female director

Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil giant Saudi Aramco has appointed five new board members, including its first female director, the oil giant said in a statement on Sunday.

The new appointments are:

- Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance;

- Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, Minister of Economy and Planning;

- Peter L. Cella, former President & CEO at Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.;

- Lynn Laverty Elsenhans, former Chairwoman, President & CEO at Sunoco Inc.;

- Andrew N. Liveris, Director at DowDuPont Inc and Chairman & CEO of Dow Chemical Co.

Liveris will retire from DowDuPont and Dow effective July 1, 2018; his appointment to Aramco board is effective as of the same date.

The five new members to Aramco’s board will join six returning members including Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih, who is also Aramco’s chairman, and Amin Nasser, Aramco’s Chief Executive.

Meanwhile, three members will exit Aramco board: Majid Al-Moneef, Advisor to the Royal Court; Khaled S. Al-Sultan, Director of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals; and Peter Woicke, former Managing Director of the World Bank.
