King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) signed an agreement with Al Mas International Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd to build a vaccine and cell culture factory, to be the first BCG vaccine plant of its kind in the Middle East, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The Company leased a 40,000 square meter plot of land to build the first phase of the project which is expected to be completed by mid-2021, said Ayman Mansi, chief executive office of KAEC’s industrial valley.
The city aims to be the largest hub for the pharmaceutical industries in the region, through attracting national and international firms in order to meet market demand, he added.
