Expat remittances from Saudi Arabia drop 2% in May

Remittance outflows by expatriates in Saudi Arabia fell 2 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 12.75 billion in May, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

Compared to April, expat remittances rose by SAR 1.03 billion.

Remittances sent by Saudi nationals to other countries declined 17 percent YoY to SAR 5.93 billion in May. 

On a month-on-month basis, these remittances grew almost SAR 1 billion in the same period.
