Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Transport has signed contracts worth SAR 1.7 billion ($453.3 million) to extend 23 roads across the Kingdom as part of a plan to upgrade its infrastructure, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
The contracts are part of 75 projects worth SAR 2.7 billion signed this year, a ministry statement said.
The statement did not name any of the 18 companies that were awarded the contracts.
Saudi Arabia has been investing in infrastructure projects including ports, railways, roads and airports, as part of its Vision 2030 program.
The country aims to have the private sector operate most of the Kingdom's transport infrastructure, with the government acting as a regulator.
