The Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) announced the ticket prices of the Haramain high-speed rail, after agreement with the Spanish operator Al Shoula consortium, ahead of the service launch next month.

The ticket prices have varied based on classes and destinations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday, citing Rumaih Al Rumaih, President of Public Transport Authority & Acting President of SRO.

The prices of a trip between Jeddah’s Sulaimaniyah station and Makkah begin from SAR 40 and SAR 50 for standard and business class tickets, respectively.

Meanwhile, tickets for Makkah - Al-Madinah trips are priced at SAR 150 for regular tickets and SAR 250 for the business class.

All tickets are subject to a 50 percent discount on both classes for two months, starting from October, Al Rumaih said.

Regular trips will be launched until the end of December on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Makkah, Al-Madinah, Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City stations.

Trips from King Abdulaziz International Airport station will begin later on.

The rail will travel four times/daily on each direction, and the number of trips will be increased to cover the whole week, starting 2019.

Mohammad Feda, the project’s general manager at the Saudi Railway Co. (SAR), said tickets will be available next month, adding that an application will be launched for easy use on all smart devices.
