Asian stock markets rose on Wednesday, supported by the biggest overnight rally on Wall Street.
Japan’s Nikkei, South Korea’s Kospi and Australia’s ASX 200 were each up 1 percent. Singapore’s stock benchmark STI gained 1.71 percent, while India's BSE rose 0.61 percent.
Major US indexes recovered on the back of strong quarterly results, their best trading day since March. The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 2.7 percent, S&P 500 rose by 2.1 percent while Nasdaq Composite jumped 2.9 percent on Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 1.3 percent higher, or nearly 100 points, at 7,667 points on Tuesday, following strong gains by energy and banking stocks.
