Saudi transport minister, Nabeel Al-Amudi, has inaugurated the private aviation terminal at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

“The new terminal marks a new development within the Kingdom’s airports restructuring plan, in line with the best global standards,” stated Abdul Hakim Al-Tamimi, chairman of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The private aviation is expected to see an increasing demand, as the Kingdom airports have been hosting a large number of private jets, Al-Tamimi noted.

“The project is a part of the airports privatization plan, aimed at providing passengers with high-quality services,” stated Mansour Al Mansour, chief executive officer at Riyadh Airports Co.

Riyadh Airports undertook the establishment of the private terminal which spans 3,000 square meters, and accommodates 100 passengers/hour, Argaam previously reported.
