A look at Bawan business sectors, achievements

Bawan Co. is adopting a business diversification strategy through its subsidiaries which work in four main sectors including metal, wood, electrical and concrete industries.

As for the latest achievements, the firm told Argaam that its subsidiaries were able to promote its position in the local and international markets, as well as increasing production capacity to meet the growing demand.

The metal industries

- Bawan Metal Industries Co.

The company was founded as a result of a merger between Al Muhaidib Metal Industries and Al Fozan Steel Industries, Bawan Wood Industries Company.

The award-winning is one of the largest manufacturers of re-bar and other metal products for the Saudi market.

The wood industries

- Bawan Wood Industries

The firm has been awarded several honorary certificates in recognition of its ongoing commitment to the highest international standards of quality and excellence, including the Performance Excellence Certificate from SABIC and Kuwaiti Emir’s Award.

- United Wood Products Co. (UWP)

The leading wood manufacturer of wooden products with the highest international standards of quality was able to promote the Saudi wood industry in the regional markets.

The electrical induatries

- United Transformers Electric Co. (Utec) 

The firm was founded in 2001 as a limited liability company and over the years was able to gain a major share of the electrical transformers market in Saudi Arabia.

Utec’s products are very popular regionally and internationally, as they are exported to the neighboring major markets, particularly in the GCC, as well as some markets in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

- United Technology of Electric Substations & Switchgears Co. (USSG)

The firm was established in 2009 in partnership with Wilson Transformers Australia.

USSG produces a variety of electrical products which represent a qualitative addition in the field of electrical automation and power distribution networks.

- Bawan Electric Co. Ltd.

One of Bawan Holding subsidiaries under the Al Muhaidib--Fozan group.

The firm produces electricity distribution plates brand Targo.

- Bina Industrial Investments Holding Co.

The company is currently running advanced factories in the Eastern and Western Provinces.

The firm recently took part in implementing the following projects:

1) Saudi Aramco’s employees housing project

2) Aramco’s Fadhli project

3) Project in Mousawarah, Al Qatif

4) Ministry of Housing’s project in Al Qatif

5) Saudi Telecom Co.’s project

6) King Faisal University’s housing project in Al-Ahsa (200 villas)

7) Residential complex in Al-Khobar (178 villas)

8) Residential complex in Jubeil (273 villas)

9)Residential complex in Al Khobar (533 villas)

10) Private residential complex in Al Khobar (132 villas)

11) Public school complex in Al Khobar

According to data compiled by Argaam, Bawan, one of the leading industrial groups in Saudi Arabia, was founded in 1980 as a result of a merger between   Abdulqader Al Muhaidib & Sons Co., and Abdulatif and Mohammed Al-Fawzan Group.
