Prices of Saudi commodities rose in December

Prices of 31 goods and services in Saudi Arabia dropped year-on-year (YoY) in December, while prices of 128 commodities rose, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) show.

Out of the total of 88 food products, prices of 17 items fell YoY for the month, while prices of other 70 products increased.

Chinese garlic saw the biggest drop at 14.98 percent YoY, while prices of eggs jumped the most by 30.85 percent YoY.

As for non-food commodities, the prices of all items increased in December, with laundry detergent rising the most by 7.63 percent.

The prices of 10 services rose last month compared to December 2017, while three services saw lower prices.

Prices of six fodder and livestock products increased in December.

Meanwhile, prices of 10 construction materials declined for the month, while 27 materials increased. Concrete 350k prices shed 1.77 percent. Prices of 10 mm-rebar rose the most by 15.06 percent.
