Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed January 2019 at 8,559 points, 9.4 percent or 733.2 points higher, when compared to the previous month.
During the month, the index hit its highest level at 8,624 points on Jan. 28, the Saudi stock exchange said in a monthly statement.
Total equity market capitalization grew by 8.9 percent month-on-month (MoM) to SAR 2,025 trillion. Total turnover jumped 13.4 percent MoM to SAR 68.2 billion.
The total number of shares changing hands reached 2.89 billion shares in January, an increase of 13.2 percent MoM.
Total number of transactions rose 4.7 percent MoM to 2.47 million in January this year.
