17/03/2019 Argaam

A delegation of 20 UK renewable energy companies will commence three-day meetings in Saudi Arabia to explore investments, Aleqtisadiah reported, citing Chris Innes-Hopkins, Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) UK executive director.

The meetings, starting tomorrow, will run until March 20. They will focus on the major projects recently launched by Saudi Arabia to generate 59 gigawatts (GW) of electricity from solar and wind by 2030.

The delegation includes both small and large companies with expertise in a range of renewable energy technologies including grid management, low carbon desalination, solar and wind energy solutions and legal and advisory services.

Saudi Arabia is seeking to be a renewable energy hub over the next 20 years with a capacity exceeding 200 GW, in line with the National Transformation Plan (NTP).
