Saudi German Hospitals (SGH), run by Middle East Healthcare Co. (MEAHCO), has opened a new hospital in Ajman with a total cost of AED 300 million, it said in a statement.

The 41,000 square meter hospital, is the firm’s third medical facility in the United Arab Emirates and 10th hospital in the Mena region.

SGH Ajman will include a medical school and staff accommodation building, and it will be part of the Batterjee medical city.

The 200-bed hospital is Ajman’s biggest medical facility, and it has the infrastructure to double that capacity.

It includes 9 intensive care units, cardiology department and 46 clinics, as well as a 24-hour emergency unit and four operating rooms.

According to data compiled by Argaam, MEAHCO signed in 2017 agreements with Bait Al Batterjee Medical Co. Ltd. to provide management supervision for six under-construction hospitals in the UAE (Sharjah and Ajman) and Pakistan.
