03/05/2019 Argaam

Nearly half of the families in Saudi Arabia prefer “all inclusive” package vacation offers, which include convenience elements such as flights, transfers, food and beverages, according to a survey conducted by Disney Destinations.

Thirty-one percent of respondents noted the importance of having activities and options to suit the interest of every family member when considering vacation options.

Children were found to be the biggest influence on family holiday choices, with 50 percent of parents admitting their kids have the highest influence on vacation destinations and activities. Only 14 percent of respondents considered social influencers to impact their holiday decisions.

The survey also found males were far more likely to book holidays online, with 75 percent reporting they manage the entire process themselves, compared to 46 percent of females. Females are more likely to seek third party assistance, with 37 percent reporting that someone else manages the process for them.

A substantial number of families seek a variety of activities which cater to the age and interests of each relative, with almost one-third stating this is a priority consideration when planning their vacations.

When it comes to family holiday budgets, 55 percent of respondents set aside SAR 10,000 or more each year for vacations with less than one-fifth of the survey takers expecting to spend more than SAR 50,000, with the most prominent proportion of these (45 percent) being younger families.
