The Tadawul All- Share Index (TASI) on Tuesday recorded active trading during the closing auction session, with total turnover of SAR 21.27 billion on trading 509.2 million shares.
A total of 18,300 transactions were completed upon entry of MSCI index foreign funds.
During the 10-minute auction period, investors can place buy and sell orders based on which the system calculates a fair price per stock.
Tadawul earlier announced that it will extend the closing auction and trade-at-last sessions to 20 minutes (instead of 10 minutes) on May 28 only, Argaam reported.
The one-day extension came ahead of the first stage of inclusion in MSCI Emerging Market Index starting May 29 based on closing prices on May 28.
The Index surged 171 points during the auction session. It reversed its daily losses, ending on a positive note with a gain of 169 points.
In this report, Argaam monitors the movement of Tadawul-listed stock prices during the auction period that follows the regular trading time. The Auction period lasts 10 minutes between 3 pm and 3:10 pm.
