Emaar the Economic City, which develops King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh, reported a net profit of SAR 85.1 million in first quarter, 71 percent higher compared to the same period in 2014.

The year-on-year
increase was mainly attributed to higher sales of residential
lands
, units and villas

in addition to higher rental revenue
s in industrial zones
.

Compared to Q4-2014, the increase was attributed to lower selling and marketing expenses driven by the decline in the number of sales. The impact is partially offset by
a
decrease in
the
number of industrial zone plots offered for sale during
first quarter, the company added.
