Naphtha feedstock prices rose by $30 week-on-week (WoW) to $595 a ton.
The prices of Saudi liquified petroleum gases (LPGs), such as propane and butane, are set at a 20% discount compared to the prices of exports to Japan from the port of Ras Tanura.
Saudi Aramco raised February’s butane prices by $20 month-on-month (MoM) to $545 a ton. It also hikes butane prices by $20 to $540 a ton.

Most basic petrochemicals increased. Propylene added $30 to $790 a ton. Styrene and benzene gained $10 each to $985 a ton, and $775 a ton, respectively. Similarly, MTBE finished $20 up at $655 a ton, while ethylene eased $5 to $655 a ton. China’s spot methanol prices were unchanged at $265 a ton.
Moreover, Methanex Corp., the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol, kept its Asian contract price (ACP) for February unchanged MoM at $360 per ton.
Prices of High-density polyethylene (HDPE) appreciated by $10 to $840 a ton. Polypropylene jumped $15 to $845 a ton, with polystyrene leaping $20 to $1,035 a ton.
For fertilizers, urea rose $5 to $445 a ton. Ammonia and di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) kept flat at $520 a ton, and $655 a ton, respectively.

Argaam Petrochemical Index exclusively provides weekly capacity-weighted measures for the average variations in global prices of several petrochemical products manufactured in the Gulf Arab countries.
Internally consumed products, which are used as feedstock in the production of other petrochemicals, represent smaller weights on the index. These products, such as ethylene, propylene, and ammonia, are not sold regularly in the international market.
Final products sold in international markets such as polyethylene, polypropylene, MTBE, MEG, and urea are the most weighted on the index.
Weights of products on the index are reviewed periodically.
As of January 1, 2002, the index started at 100 points.
