Saudi Arabia said it will re-impose strict measures against COVID-19 in Jeddah for 15 days, starting from Saturday, June 6 until June 20, in response to an evaluation of the health situation in the city by relevant authorities, the SPA reported on Friday, citing a Ministry of Interior source.

Under these measures, the curfew in Jeddah will be between 3 p.m. and 6 a.m. and prayers at mosques will be suspended again.

Workplace attendance of employees of ministries, government agencies and private sector companies will be also suspended.

Dining dining in restaurants and cafes was also suspended, and gatherings of more than five people are prohibited.

On the other hand, domestic flights and train trips will continue to operate and people will be allowed to enter and exit the city during the free movement hours.

The categories excluded by virtue of the previous decisions will continue their activities in accordance with the measures and controls set by the competent authority.

Moreover, the source stressed the ongoing monitoring of the number of critical cases in Riyadh, which was on the rise in the last few days, adding that an appropriate action will be taken if cases continue to rise.

The current measures applied in the rest of the Saudi cities and governorates will continue, noting that any change in the adopted mechanism for any region, will be announced in due course, the source concluded.
