Communications Ministry invites public views on BCM policy for IT firms

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology called on all parties concerned to submit their views on the draft business continuity management (BCM) policy for licensed companies in the communications and information technology (IT) sector by Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021.

 

The draft sets out minimum policies for telecommunications and IT companies to adopt and enhance BCM, the ministry added.

 

The BCM policy aims to empower the national economy by applying the policy for licensed companies in the communications and IT sector in order to achieve the Vision 2030’s goals.

 

It also aims to enhance the maturity of BCM in the telecommunications and IT sector to ensure the sustainability and flexibility of companies and the continuity and availability of IT sector’s resources, products, and services.

 

The Ministry clarified that BCM objectives include raising the level of compliance to adopt business management policies and improving decision-making through a comprehensive BCM program.

 

The Ministry also asked all parties concerned to submit relevant data, analysis, and comparative studies that support their views.
