The private sector contribution to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased to 51% in 2020 from 40% in 2016, Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, said.

“The private sector contribution is on the right track to reach 65% in 2030,” he added during a meeting held by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to launch the “Shareek” program.

The private sector went beyond traditional activities, as it now undertakes quality, high-tech investments in the industrial, information technology or services sectors.

Moreover, the public sector will act as an enabler, while the private sector will lead Vision 2030, Al-Rajhi concluded.
