Ahmed Al-Hussein, Spokesperson for the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), said necessary legal measures were taken against former President of King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Abdulrahman Al-Youbi, with regard to embezzlement of the university funds, to prevent disposal of this money until all regulatory procedures are completed to restore it to the state.
Nazaha revealed the irregularities committed by Al-Youbi, who was relieved of his position on Oct. 27 by virtue of a Royal Order. Al-Youbi committed crimes that include abuse of power for personal interest, and embezzlement of the university’s funds, Al-Hussein told Al-Ekhbariya TV.
Investigations were conducted with Al-Youbi, based on the information reported to Nazaha, Al-Hussein clarified, stressing that those who abuse their power to embezzle the state funds will be held accountable.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued toda a Royal Decree on relieving Al-Youbi of his position, Argaam reported.
