Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, revealed that the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh will become operational in March 2023, starting with bus transportation followed by the metro.

 

He noted that the expansion of the lines is being considered.

 

The commission will announce the Riyadh Strategy in 2023, which took time as it is extensive and includes several projects.

 

The commission is close to completing the strategy’s details, followed by approvals and an official announcement, he told Al Arabiya TV.

 

King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh is one of the ambitious plans set by the commission to provide integrated public transport solutions, according to Argaam's data.

 

The project targets establishing and operating a rapid public transport network using the latest technologies through six train tracks, 84 train stations, 80 bus lanes and 2,860 bus stations.
