Saudi Ministry of Commerce announced, on June 10, fined 10 automobile agencies for violations against consumers, including the delay in repairing vehicles and providing spare parts.

Violations also included the nondisclosure of the defects with a car upon sale, the ministry indicated.

An auto agency selling Chinese car brands was fined for not providing a rare spare part within 14 days of the consumer request.

The violators are selling German and US car brands, three are selling Japanese cars and another four are selling Chinese vehicles.

Violations included delay in maintenance works, not providing an alternative car to the consumer, or disbursing compensation during the waiting period.

The ministry indicated that the auto agencies failed to detect the car glitch due to improper car examination and delay in new car deliveries.
