Oil tanks
US crude oil inventories increased in the week ended Sept. 8, compared to forecasts of a decline. Gasoline and distillate inventories also rose during the same period, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed.
US crude oil inventories for the week jumped by four million barrels from the previous week, compared to estimates of a decrease of 1.9 million barrels.
The gasoline inventories rose by about 5.6 million barrels, while distillate stocks increased by 3.9 million barrels.
