Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef launched today the strategy for developing human capabilities in the industrial and mining sectors.
The minister also launched the National Academy of Industry, during the Human Capabilities Initiative 2024 conference, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The strategy aims to attract, develop and empower talents and leaders. It seeks to create an attractive work culture and a supportive work environment, enhance levels of productivity and innovation, and support the private sector by developing human capabilities.
The strategy is in line with the goals of the National Strategy for Industry and Vision 2030.
It contributes to identifying the necessary skills in the industrial and mining sectors, attracting the best talents, developing and enhancing workforce productivity and ensuring its sustainability, and achieving the strategy’s vision of preserving the workforce in all industrial and mining sectors by creating more than 40 initiatives.
It also serves as a comprehensive roadmap for studying and analyzing supply and demand, and providing a clear picture that reflects the gaps and challenges in developing human resources working in the two sectors.
The National Academy of Industry aims to provide direct training programs for experienced and fresh graduates, support current training institutes, provide incentives, facilitate partnerships, and provide unique, world-class programs targeting the latest technologies in the industrial sector.
Furthermore, the academy plays a major role in achieving the goals of the Human Capabilities Development Program by supporting and empowering local and international training bodies, and providing direct training programs to the target groups.
It also works as a facilitator, bringing together training providers, the private sector, and regulators, and also works to align its efforts and strategies to enhance industrial workforce skills.
Moreover, the academy will address a number of challenges and gaps by playing a pioneering role in coordinating and advancing industrial human capital development efforts, and will offer 18 programs through cooperation with various training providers.
