Saudi Arabia will start implementing the regulations to suspend services effective from Ramadan 1 (March 11), excluding some services.
The services related to medical treatment, education, work, the commercial registration, or documentation, in a way harming the beneficiary or his dependents, will not be suspended. Individuals and the business sector can apply for extending a grace period before suspension, the state-run SPA reported.
The agency noted that processing of current suspension requests is underway, with (157,243) suspensions lifted to date.
The regulation stages service suspension in 3 phases, each with a set duration: the first two phases last 15 days, extendable by another 15, while the third phase's duration is determined by the regulatory document. A government entity can lift the suspension within 24 hours once the cause ends.
The implementation of this regulation follows strict guidelines and models for government platforms, accessible through the Absher "Individuals and Businesses" platform and the "Muqeem" portal.
