Saudi Ambassador to the European Union Haifa Al-Jedea said that the Schengen visa is still issued in the standard process by visiting the headquarters of European embassies, denying the launch electronic visas.

The system that the EU will launch will be a new electronic system for stamping passports at ports of entry, and is not related to issuing the Schengen visa or its requirements, the Ambassador told News 24 website, noting that issuing the Schengen visa electronically may be adopted later.

The European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson recently stated that, starting from Nov. 10, the new entry and exit system "ESS" will be implemented, which is an e-system that aims to reduce waiting time at ports of entry and end the use of traditional stamps.
