US oil inventories rise less than expected

Crude oil inventories in the US rose less than expected in the week ended Sept. 6, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

 

Crude oil inventories increased 800,000 barrels last week, compared to expectations for a rise of about 900,000 barrels.

 

Gasoline stocks increased by 2.3 million barrels, with distillate fuel inventories rising by nearly the same volume.
