US oil inventories decline more than expected

Crude oil inventories in the US fell more than expected in the week ended Sept. 13, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

 

Crude oil inventories fell by 1.6 million barrels last week, compared to expectations for a drop of about 200,000 barrels.

 

Meanwhile, gasoline stocks increased by 100,000 barrels, and distillate fuel inventories were up by nearly 100,000 barrels.
