Industry Ministry issues 23 mining licenses in January 2025

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 23 new mining licenses in January 2025.

These licenses included eight exploration licenses, 10 building materials quarry licenses, and other five for reconnaissance and exploitation of small mines license, the Ministry added.

The total number of active mining licenses in the sector reached 2,405 by the end of January, led by building materials licenses (1,485), followed by exploration (463).

The mining and exploitation of small mines came in third with 220 licenses, followed by reconnaissance (39 licenses) and surplus mineral ore (18 licenses).
