Majid Khan, CEO of Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP), said weekly flights between Riyadh and London currently stands at 42 flights, of which seven are carried out by Virgin Atlantic. This represents a key milestone in air connectivity and paves the way for raising this number further in the future.

In a statement to Argaam, Khan added that Virgin Atlantic’s launch of direct daily flights between London’s Heathrow Airport and Riyadh marked a key achievement, underpinning Saudi Arabia's tourism and aviation strategies.

He also pointed out that the London-Riyadh direct air route strengthens the Kingdom's ties with the UK and spurs the influx of tourists and visitors between the two countries in both directions.

Virgin Atlantic boasts a wide network via its US-based partner Delta Air Lines, allowing for attracting more tourists from North America and Europe to Saudi Arabia via Heathrow Airport, said the top executive.

He stressed that ACP is joining hands with its partners to further stimulate the market and launch new routes to various Saudi cities with ample tourism potential.
