Riyadh will soon see the launch of a self-driving taxi project, said Omaimah Bamasag, Deputy of Transport Enablement at the Transport General Authority (TGA).

 

The move is part of Saudi Arabia’s autonomous transportation initiative, representing a qualitative step towards a smart and sustainable future for the local transportation sector, Bamasag added.

 

This came during her participation in a panel discussion at the 2025 edition of the AIIT Conference, organized by the University of Jeddah.
