Several representatives to an array of public and private sector entities were also in attendance.

This project, according to NADEC, is deemed among the largest national initiatives in the local livestock sector by Alraie National Livestock, a joint venture (JV) in which NADEC holds a 51% ownership stake besides Al Muhaidib Group.

It aims to develop integrated facilities for raising sheep and goats using state-of-the-art technologies. This in a bid to contribute to increasing local meat production, reducing import dependency, empowering small-scale farmers, and achieving sectoral sustainability, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The project’s total investment value is estimated at SAR 2 billion, including government financial support of around SAR 1.1 billion — provided by the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF), reflecting its strategic and economic significance for the Saudi food sector.

By 2030, the project is expected to scale an annual production capacity of one million sheep heads.

The ceremony also featured the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Alraie National Livestock and the following entities:

- University of Hail to cooperate in student training and job market preparation. This is to bolster joint research projects and consultancy studies, exchange scientific expertise, organize joint events, and implement social responsibility programs.

- Sulaiman Al-Rajhi Foundation for Development Finance (RDF) to support productive families and implement projects related to leather and wool industries. This is in addition to the joint marketing of products and services, besides organizing workshops and scientific events, exchanging technical skills and executing social responsibility programs.

- Entag Association for Productive Families in Hail to back joint programs and initiatives, provide services and consultancy, offer training opportunities for targeted groups, host joint scientific events, promote knowledge exchange, and execute social responsibility programs.

These agreements aim to maximize the developmental and social impact of the project and support economic and environmental sustainability both in Hail and across the Kingdom.
